If you ask ME, i’d say this is history in the making! I heard about this some months back but wasn’t too sure, but right now its OFFICIAL.
Kasuwa is a Hausa word that means ‘Market’ and so is befitting of a name for an e-commerce platform. Kasuwa is the new Rocket Internet’s Amazon for Nigeria. It allows users to buy items such as electronics, books, cameras, DVDs and games.
Rocket Internet would also be launching a clothing/fashion store called Sabunta. The company is looking really aggressive as it desires to launch other e-commerce platforms in Nigeria in the future.
Rocket Internet has a track record of cloning existing high-growth web companies across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. We gathered that Tunde Kehinde, Bandeka Co-founder, has joined the team at Rocket Internet Nigeria that is building Nigeria’s Amazon Clone.

Kasuwa had issue of copyright with local ecommerce website so they decided to re-launch website with different design. After that they launched website named as Jumia. Rocket internet had also launched Amazon clones in different countries where Amazon does not exist.
